Coker Tennis Teams Earn ITA All-Academic Team Awards, Combine for 11 Scholar-Athletes
TEMPE, Ariz. - The Coker University men’s and women’s tennis teams earned Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Team Awards, while the teams combined for 11 Scholar-Athletes, announced earlier this week by the organization.

TEMPE, Ariz. - The Coker University men's and women's tennis teams earned Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Team Awards, while the teams combined for 11 Scholar-Athletes, announced earlier this week by the organization.
To earn the ITA All-Academic Team Award, teams must have a GPA of over 3.2 for the academic year. To be named a Scholar-Athlete, the student-athlete must earn a GPA of at least 3.5 for the academic year.
Bradley Bomar, Mitchell Davies, Jannis Jung, Isaac MacMillan, Nolan Smith and Samuel Winter earned the individual honor on the men's side.
This is Bomar's third career Scholar-Athlete honor. The Easley, S.C. native is the son of Chuck and Amy Bomar, and graduated from Coker with a bachelor's degree in business administration.
This is Davies's third career Scholar-Athlete honor. The Mount Pleasant, S.C. native is the son of Joseph and Susan Davies, and graduated from Coker with a bachelor's degree in business.
This is Jung's first career Scholar-Athlete honor. The Bielefeld, Germany native is the son of Kerstin and Michael Jung, and is a sports management major.
This is MacMillan's third career Scholar-Athlete honor. The Clinton, S.C. native graduated from Coker with a bachelor's degree in biology with a concentration in pre-med.
This is Smith's first career Scholar-Athlete honor. The Blue Mountains, Ontario, Canada native is the son of Claire Sweeney-Smith and John Smith, and is a political science major.
This is Winter's first career Scholar-Athlete honor. The Wesley Chapel, Fla. native is the son of Linsey and Darren Winter, and is a psychology major.
On the women's side, Khushi Agarwal, Jessica Binzari, Angelina Kreig, Tamara Macias and Michelle Schaub earned individual Scholar-Athlete honors.
This is Agarwal's second career Scholar-Athlete honor. The Hyderabad, India native is the daughter of Pradeep and Rakhi Agarwal, and is a business administration major.
This is Binzari's first career Scholar-Athlete honor. The Constanta, Romania native is the daughter of Vladimir and Elena Binzari, and is a business major.
This is Kreig's second career Scholar-Athlete honor. The Baden-Baden, Germany native is the daughter of Martin and Helga Kreig, and is a psychology major.
This is Macias's first career Scholar-Athlete honor. The Naucalpan de Jaurez, Mexico native is the daughter of Elbar Marttelo and Luis Macias, and is a photography major.
This is Schaub's first career Scholar-Athlete honor. The Maintal, Germany native is the daughter of Michael Schaub and Christine Erdmann-Schaub, and is a business administration major.
