Cobras Distance Standouts Reset Records on Day Two at Camel City Invitational
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Coker Track & Field closed out day two of the Camel City Invitational with a strong showing from its distance runners, highlighted by two school records reset in the 1,000 meters.
On the women's side, juniorAmelia Artz delivered a standout performance, shattering the program record in the 1,000m with a time of 3:03.39. Artz's run eclipsed the previous mark of 3:35.51 set in 2022 and capped off an outstanding weekend for the Cobras' women's distance group.
The men followed suit with a record-breaking performance of their own as freshmanNathan Allen claimed the school record in the men's 1,000m, crossing the line in 2:36.51. Allen surpassed the previous record of 2:40.19 set in 2023, continuing a strong progression throughout the indoor season.
Coker's women's distance group also impressed across the board, with multiple athletes posting season-best and personal-best performances throughout the two-day meet.
