Coker Wraps Up SAC Championship Weekend with School Records and Finals Appearances
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Coker University men's and women's track & field teams wrapped up competition at the SAC Indoor Track & Field Championships this weekend, with both squads finishing 11th overall. The men totaled 12 team points, while the women added eight points across the two-day meet.
Day One: Cobras Compete in Prelims and Field Events
Day one of the championship meet featured preliminary heats and field event finals, as the Cobras looked to position themselves for scoring opportunities heading into the final day of competition.
Several Coker student-athletes posted strong performances in the prelims, earning spots in championship finals on day two. In the field events, the Cobras recorded competitive marks against a deep conference field, gaining valuable championship experience on the conference stage.
Despite a challenging opening day in the team standings, Coker remained focused heading into the final events of the meet.
Day Two: School Records Fall on Championship Saturday
The Cobras closed out the championship meet with momentum on day two, highlighted by school-record performances.
On the men's side,Quincy Bryd broke the Coker school record in the 400 M, posting a mark of 48.94 to surpass the previous record of 48.96. The performance marked a new program standard and stood out as one of the team's top highlights of the weekend.
For the women, Patience Lisbon also etched her name into the record books in the 400 M, finishing with a time of 56.92 to establish a new school record. Also adding to the record books the 4x4 team Sydney Watson, Jimena Sierra, Ale Alonso, Patience Lisbon posting the time 3:57.76
Coker added to its point total through finals appearances and top-eight finishes, ultimately closing the championship with 12 points on the men's side and eight points on the women's side.

The Coker men placed 11th overall with 12 points in the final standings, while the women also finished 11th with eight points.
Looking Ahead
With multiple school records set and several underclassmen gaining championship experience, the Cobras will look to build on the momentum from the indoor season as preparations begin for the outdoor campaign.
