HOW IT HAPPENED:
Barton plated four runs throughout the first two inning to take a commanding 4-1 lead into the third inning. After a scoreless third, Coker found themselves in a situation that they seem to thrive in time and time again. The Cobras inched closer in the fourth and fifth innings, plating one run in each.
IckCirino produced the lone run in the fourth inning on a sacrifice fly to bring in Luke Alford. In the fifth, Hunter Poole continued to stay hot. The senior roped a single up the middle to score RoccoWojcik bringing the game to within one.
Barton quickly responded in the fifth, scoring one run, and added another to extend their lead back out to three with just two innings remaining. The eighth inning proved to be the difference though. After a leadoff walk to Kyler Odom, Adam Wilkerson, Ick Cirino, and Gabriel Santiago ripped three straight hits, and the comeback was on. Cirino and Santiago's hits plated three to tie the game, with Poole coming back to the plate.
Once again, Poole delivered. His single into right center scored Santiago, giving Coker a 7-6 lead. The Cobras then turned the ball over to the recent SAC pitcher of the week, Britton Adams to shut the game down. He saw the minimum batters in the eighth and ninth inning, completing Coker's comeback victory 7-6.
Britton Adams picked up his second save on the year with Cooper Thomas earning his second win.
