Coker Earns Road Win at Barton
Coker got back into the win column on Friday night after they defeated Barton, 4-3, at Electric Supply Company Field at Truist Stadium.
WILSON, NC - Coker field hockey got back into the win column on Friday night after they defeated Barton, 4-3, at Electric Supply Company Field at Truist Stadium. The Cobras earned their second South Atlantic Conference victory of the season and first on the road.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

After a scoreless opening quarter, Coker cracked the scoring column first when freshman Amelia DiBattista scored her first collegiate goal just over three minutes into the second quarter.

Coker added to the lead with six minutes remaining in the opening half on sophomore Francesca Montanera's second goal of the season and her career.

Barton cut the deficit in half with just inside two minutes remaining in the second quarter to make the score 2-1 at the break.

A scoreless third quarter was followed by senior Camille Berger's third goal of the season and fourth of her career to give Coker a 3-1 advantage with just under eight minutes to play in the game.

Junior Skylar Ponik gave the Cobra's a two goal lead again when she scored with just inside four minutes left in the game.

Barton closed out the scoring with 1:38 left on the clock to make the final 4-3.

Coker returns to the Coker Athletic Field on Tuesday when they welcome Lincoln Memorial to Hartsville. The game, the Cobras second to last home game of the season, begins at 6 PM. Tuesday also marks Coker's Pink Game for breast cancer awareness. The game can be seen live on FloSports.
