Coker Men’s 4x100 Relay Sets School Record at Winthrop Invitational
ROCK HILL, S.C. – A record-breaking performance highlighted the weekend for the Coker University men's track and field team at the Winthrop Invitational, as the Cobras delivered strong results across multiple events.
The 4x100-meter relay team of Kamari Hudson, Keaten Pegues, Jeff Stiles, and Juelz Mickles etched their names into the record books, clocking a school-record time of 40.70 seconds, surpassing the previous mark of 40.78 set in 2019.
The Cobras continued their success in relay competition with a runner-up finish in the 4x100-meter relay (40.78), while also securing a second-place finish in the 4x400-meter relay, showcasing depth in the sprint group.
Individually, Coker turned in several standout performances on the track. In the 100 meters, Juelz Mickles led the Cobras with a third-place finish in 10.58 seconds, while Keaten Pegues followed closely in 10.63. Kamari Hudson posted a 10.72, and Jeff Stiles added a 10.74, with both recording season-best efforts.
In the 400 meters, Quincy Byrd delivered a strong performance, finishing second overall with a personal-best time of 48.46 seconds.
Coker also saw success in the middle-distance events, as Jake Popkowski captured the 800-meter title with a personal-best time of 1:55.69. Nathan Allen followed with a 1:56.89 (PR), while Jasiah Solomon added a 2:02.76 (PR) to round out the Cobras' efforts in the event.
In field competition, Braeden Rasco recorded a personal-best mark of 1.85 meters (6-0.75) in the high jump to lead Coker.
