Bio
2015-16: Nelson posted a 26-3 record this season for the Navy and Gold, advancing to the NCAA Midwest Super Regional Tournament where he finished fifth. He also was a member of the Division II All-Academic First Team.
2014-15: Nelson picked up 14 wins during his first season with Coker. He was named the Sodexo Student-Athlete of the Month for January 2015 and was ranked as high as No. 4 in the regional poll.
Other College: Nelson transfered to Coker from the University of Pittsburgh. He went 15-19 during his time as a Panther with six falls and a major decision. He won the Simonson Open in 2014.
High School: A standout wrestler at Waynesburg Central High School, Nelson compiled a record of 131-30 during his high school career. He had 74 wins by pin, was a three-time PIAA AAA state qualifier, a two-time WPIAL runner-up and a four-time Section 4 champion. He was a four-time Observer-Reporter All-District selection and he wrestled for the WPIAL All-Star team at the Dapper Dan Wrestling Classic.
Personal: Son of Heidi and Dave Nelson...he has a sister Ali...his sister Ali is a Coker alum and the current head coach of the Coker spirit squad.
