Weston Bare takes 3rd at the PJ Smith Pembroke Open

PEMBROKE, NC:  Coker was on the road today as they traveled to the PJ Smith Pembroke Open. Weston Bare took 3rd place in the 133lb weight class.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• 125 LBS 
  • Dane Dillon(5 seed) went 2-2 on the day.
    • In his opening round, he lost by decision 9-4.
    • In the second round, Dillon bounced back to win by fall in ONLY 36 seconds!
    • The third round saw Dillon go up against his own teammate, Darren Haney, where Dillon won by decision 2-1
    • His final match ended in a fall with a score of 7-0.
  • Darren Haney(6 seed) went 1-2
    • In the opening round, Haney won by fall in 1:34, moving on to the quarter-finals.
    • Haney lost the QF by fall in 4:47 with the score of 6-5.
    • Haney's day ended against Dane Dillon, who won by decision 2-1.

  • Weston Bare (3 seed) 3rd place
    • 3-1 on the day, winning by decision in his first match up (5-3). His only loss on the day was in the QF by decision 4-3. Bare then went on to win by fall in the QF of the Consolation bracket 3-2. He won in the 3rd place match by fall in only 56 seconds.
  • Jaiden Zajni (12 seed) 6th place
    • Zajni went 2-1 on the day, winning his first two matches by technical fall 15-0 and 17-1. He lost in the semi-finals by technical fall 16-1 to the #1 seed in the bracket, finishing 6th place overall after being forced to forfeit his remaining matches.

    • Heard went 2-1 on the day after winning his first match by a major decision, 12-4.

    • Wheeler went 1-2 on the day. After losing in the opening round by fall in 4:41, he bounced back in his second match, winning by fall in 1:11. His day ended in technical fall 20-2

    • Gentry went 0-2 on the day, losing both of his matches by technical fall.

    • Soloman went 0-2 on the day, losing by fall in the opening round and losing in sudden victory in the second.
  • Zachary Russo ( 4 seed) 4th place
    • Russo went 3-2 on the day. Russo made it to the Semi-finals via 2 close wins by decision before falling in the semi-final by decision. In the semi-final of the consolation bracket, he won by decision 4-2, moving on to the 3rd place match. He lost in a sudden victory 7-4 to take 4th place.

    •  2-3 on the day, after losing in the open round, Hall bounced back with a win by technical fall against teammate Jeshua Kelly. In his next match, he won by major decision to go into the semi-final #1, where he lost by decision 2-5.
