BELMONT, N.C. – The Coker women's soccer team lost a competitive 1-0 match against Belmont Abbey in Conference Carolinas play on Wednesday (Oct. 10).
The first half saw very little action, as neither team could take control. Each team took 4-shots on the opposing goalkeeper, but no one was able to connect for a goal.
Momentum quickly shifted to the Belmont Abbey sideline in the second half, after Alana Ryczek fired one in to give the Crusaders a 1-0 lead. The Cobras battled, but were given little opportunity to score as the clock struck zero.
Coker will compete again on Saturday (Oct. 13), as they host the Flying Fleet of Erskine in a home game. The match is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m.
