THE SENIOR HAD AN UNDEFEATED DAY AGAINST #32 NEWBERRY TO EARN THE HONOR
Rock Hill, SC - After a stellar performance against #32 Newberry, Jade Bellegy is your South Atlantic Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week!
Bellegy, a senior from Paris, France, had an incredible outing against the Wolves. Starting off in doubles, she paired up with partner Emerson Banning to get a dominant 6-1 win on court one. Then, she pulled through in a crucial moment to give the Cobras the 3-2 lead in the team score after a 6-3, 7-6 (1) straight-sets win at first singles that ultimately helper her team secure a 4-3 victory against a nationally-ranked opponent.
This performance comes after a month of similar stellar performances, as she has not dropped a singles match since March 6th. She has been one of the best athletes in the conference all season long and capped off the SAC regular season in the right way. Now, Bellegy and her team will turn their attention to the SAC Playoffs on Wednesday when they take on Carson-Newman in round one action starting at 9:00 AM ET!
