Women’s Volleyball Brings in Five for 2013-14

Head volleyball coach Allison Stack announced the addition of five players on the women's side.

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Coker College women's volleyball coach Allison Stack announced the addition of five players today. Timera Arnold, Toni Hammer, Cassandra Nagel, Brittney Pink and Meredith Storms have agreed to play for the Cobras beginning in the 2013-14 academic year.

"I am thrilled to bring in such a diverse and talented group of ladies," Stack said. "It's going to be an exciting year having seven returners and seven new players competing daily as a team for starting positions. I expect a few of these new recruits to contribute right away in their first year, which is what any coach strives for."

Arnold is an outside hitter from Oxford, Ala., where she attended Oxford High School. She was a two-time all-county player for the Yellowjackets. Arnold was also a member of the Birmingham Boom club team.

Timera is the daughter of Cedric and Aretha Scott.

Hammer, a middle hitter, hails from Clover, S.C., and attended Clover High School. She was a three-sport athlete for the Eagles in volleyball, track and basketball. Hammer was also a member of the Rock Hill Volleyball Club.

Toni is the daughter of Mike and Dodie Ballard.

Nagel is an outside hitter transferring from Gulf Coach State College in Florida. She is originally from Hagerty High School in Chuluota, Fla., where she was a four-year varsity letterwinner in volleyball for the Huskies.

Cassandra is the daughter of J.P. Nagel.

Pink is a middle blocker from Terre Haute South Vigo High School in Terre Haute, Ind. She was a two-sport athlete in volleyball and track, and was an All-Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference and All-Wabash Valley selection. Pink was also a co-captain.

Brittney is the daughter of Tracy Pink and Robert Shouse.

Storms, a middle hitter, hails from Ormond Beach, Fla., and attended Seabreeze High School. She was a two-year varsity starter and was top five in the county for blocks as a senior. Storms also played for the Florida Elite Volleyball Club and the Florida Inland Volleyball Club 18U national team.

Meredith is the daughter of Keith and Jane Storms.
