Previous to Coker: Hykeem had a successful soccer career in high school, earning several accolades such as All Region, all state, all Lakeland's, and being named the index journal player of the year. He also had the opportunity to participate in the North/South all-star game. After high school, he attended Southern Methodist College before transferring to Southern Wesleyan University. At Southern Wesleyan University, Martin earned All-Conferece 2nd Team. Finally, he ended up at Coker University.
